“I thought it was agreed that Central Baptist Church in College Station, which is in Bryan, along with Texas Ave. Baptist Church, which is by the East Bypass and College Station Baptist Church, which is on Texas Ave.(not to be confused with First Baptist Church, College Station) have decided that the members of the First Baptist Church in Bryan should be able to eat at Hooters before the other congregations in order to let everyone know how horrible the conditions are, and if the wings are any good.”

GAWSH, I love TexAgs!

Fourth Time’s the Charm?

Tuesday, 2007-November-13 by

A woman walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that
she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding. “Of course,
madam,” replied the sales clerk, “exactly what type and color dress are
you looking for?”

The bride to be said: “A long frilly white dress with a veil.” The
sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, “Please don’t take this the
wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for
brides who are being married for the first time – for those who are a
bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue
would be nice?”

“Well,” replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk’s directness,
“I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate.
Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a
first-time bride.

You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding; he died as
we were checking into our hotel. My second husband and I got into such a
terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that
wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again.”

“What about your third husband?” asked the sales clerk?

Day 23 of 30

Friday, 2007-November-9 by

It’s funny how yesterday, after I set a goal of making a dent in my inbox, I found other filing and stuff to do instead. It all still needs to get done and all still affects my greater todo list, but the filing was something that once I got started, I couldn’t stop. Today, I will finish the filing and will have to move on to the inbox.

  • Getting Things Done
  • take Indi out like 15 times before lunch
  • copy files from one hard drive to another
  • meet for photographers’ lunch
  • Getting Things Done
  • meet with a new client
  • Getting Things Done
  • check on a couple of friends
  • update toodledo list
  • start knocking out a few tasks!
  • Getting Things Done

and no, I didn’t get much done to the inbox…the nemesis!

Robert Scoble (scobleizer.com) has a great visual “starfish” that defines our current social media options.

If you are trying to get a grasp on these new uses of our technology, this is great “outline” to it all!

Please adopt this sweet boy!

Wednesday, 2007-November-7 by

Please Adopt Indigo!

  • Indigo
  • 15 months old
  • Australian Kelpie (and a little heeler) mix

Visit http://indi.texasbluelime.com for more information
Contact Lori at 979 575 5674 or lori@texasbluelime.com to meet him.

Indigo is a sweet, 30-pound, 15-month-old Australian Kelpie (with a little Heeler) in desperate need of some cows or sheep to herd. While we were (are) ready for a dog in our lives, this darling critter is not a good fit for us. We’ve had him since December 2006 and it’s just not working out.

We have attempted every form of exercise we can find: running up and down the stairs of our home, playing with the neighbor dogs, running 2+ miles in the evenings with our neighbor. Still, he needs more than we can find. Our property is all landscaped in jasmine and other natural/wild plants; we have very little grass. There is no place for him to run. Our lifestyle is much more sedentary (we are computer geeks). If we’d known he was a herding breed (his physical appearance and personality changed quite a bit from puppy to dog), we’d never have agreed to taking him. He’s already been dumped and rescued once; we want to work very hard to find him the best home/fit we can.

Indi needs a ranch. He is 100% herding dog and needs to run and chase other critters. Here are some specs on Indigo.

  • Shots up-to-date
  • Neutered
  • Registered in Brazos County
  • Box/crate trained
  • Advantage Multi flea/tick/worm/mite/etc preventative (4 month supply)
  • High vocabulary and quick to learn
  • Graduate of K9 Kindergarten with Ms. Shannon
  • High-energy
  • Runner
This is one of hardest and most painful things I’ve ever had to do. Please, if you know someone with land and critters, give them a link to this entry about adorable Indi.

    Visit http://indi.texasbluelime.com for more information
Contact Lori at 979 575 5674 or lori@texasbluelime.com to meet him.

Day 22 of 30

Wednesday, 2007-November-7 by

So, the 3:30 “alarm clock” (which is, I’m sure a combination of insomnia, allergies, and the new cold front) had me up until 8am.

  • slept 8-10:30
  • ran errands: Home Depot, Office Depot
  • organized the office, culling as I went
  • research
  • Getting Things Done with the 43Folders implementation
  • CroKnit group at Blue Baker
  • Getting Things Done with the 43Folders implementation; I wasn’t sure this would work for me, but it seems to work really well! I’ve incorporated it with my Toodledo (.com) and find that the two work very well together. 43folders will tickle me if ToodleDo doesn’t, and it gives me the visual reminder that Toodledo doesn’t.

Now, if I could just find the Benadryl so I don’t have to take the knock-me-on-my-arse-for-two-days insomnia med…..

Day 21

Tuesday, 2007-November-6 by

I slept for ~11 hours last night, so it took me a little longer to wake up, but once I got up, I made quick progress

  • check email for “urgencies”
  • walked Indi
  • Getting Things Done
  • Looked for a CD to work on a project for a client
  • Found out some bad news and became angry
  • Met Dennis for lunch so we could trade CF cards and hard drives from the wedding last weekend
  • Cleaned the house like a mad woman; those of you who saw the guest and craft rooms at Luzaween won’t recognize them, now
  • When Emil got home, I had him help me with the things I could not do myself
  • Made Feng Shui maps for several rooms and our overall home
  • Vegged with television and wine
