So someone at Lori’s work is wearing perfume verrrrrrry similar to her grandmother’s. Since we are headed home today to celebrate their 60th Anniversary (1-Aug), it feels like a sign of love and celebration.

Emil (on phone with his sister): [Something like] I’m sorry I missed your call, we were sleeping. We had a long night last night, so we went to bed as soon as we got home.

Sandra: [Must have said something like] You wouldn’t get to do that if you had kids.

    Emil: “We ARE the kids!”

….and then Sandra and Lori talked about her daughter’s upcoming wedding! :)

If you search for a person by name or business, you will likely find them listed on a dozen or more directories for the types of work, charity, and community things that they do. I’m on several lists. like this.

The other day I found a new one. Since I hope that these sites will each drive some traffic to , I clicked the little link to edit my information and hopefully combine three different records about me into one complete record. Imagine my surprise when this “directory” site wanted a credit card number for “verification“!!! What gall and nerve!!!

Since they already have my information (pilfered from other directories and legitimate websites), I wrote their “customer service” a nasty note.

So, pay attention out there, people. They looked as legitimate as any other site (similar to Linked In) but obviously have an ulterior motive.

And, in doing a tiny bit of research, I found that I’m not the only on unhappy with their, ah um, technique:

We often get asked what kind of dog Indigo is. Well, last night, at puppy school graduation (photos coming soon), we learned, he’s got a lot of Australian Kelpie in him.

A friend of our’s has a family member who has been in some trouble. Today, they found out that the District Attorney is recommending a boot-camp experience for him instead of prison. He should be sentenced in a couple of weeks, so unless the judge denies the plea arrangement, this is almost behind them all.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved….

Lori here. So I’m at home today battling an earache. I assume, so far, that my sinusitis has traveled to my ear. It feels like swimmer’s ear.

Anyway, living in this area and being allergy prone, I sneeze a lot. It freaks Indi out. He doesn’t do this with anyone else, but for some reason, it bothers him when I sneeze.

Let me put this in perspective: one of Emil’s super-hero nicknames is “Violent Sneeze Boy”. He has these loud sneezes. Our neighbor is the same way. I’ve actually heard her sneeze from her house to our’s before!

Still, Indi is freaked out by my sneezes.

So, the theme of this Friday the 13th is “A-choo! Woof!”

Once again, Hookah Station has been in the local news for denying entrance to persons of color. This is unacceptable.

This pattern/history is not what Northgate, College Station, Aggieland, or the Brazos Valley are about! One Former Student even did her Master’s thesis on this very topic.

[Update: Laine is right. Here is the story on The Eagle.]

Maegan’s husband, Larame, just returned from the war. His photo was in their local paper, the Pensacola News Journal.

What a GREAT shot of the two of them!
