February 15, 2006 - Purchased 12 gallon tank and initial setup.

February 17, 2006 - Purchased first fish: 2 - Long-finned Leopard Zebra Danio for 12g.

February 24, 2006 - Purchased several fish, 12g: 2 - Long-finned Leopard Zebra Danio, 2 - Corydoras Catfish, 4 - Red Eye Tetra, 2 - Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami.

March 3, 2006 - Purchased 4 fish: 1 - Candy Stripe Pleco, 3 - Gold Pristella Tetra (12g tank).

March 5, 2006 - First water change, approximately 1.75 gallons (15%) (12g tank).

March 11, 2006 - Received 35 gallon tank (hexagonal on stand) from Pam and cleaned it out.

March 12, 2006 - Second water change, approximately 2.5 gallons (21%) and changed filter (12g tank).

March 12, 2006 -Moved the 12 gallon tank to a new location to make room for additional 35 gallon tank.

March 13, 2006 - Setup new 35 gallon tank where 12 gallon was originally located. Added 10 inch bubble bar to backside of tank for extra visual appeal.

March 14, 2006 - One of the Gold Pristella Tetra's was quarantined in a separate container due to it swimming on its side and bumping into things.

March 14, 2006 - Moved the 4 Long-finned Leopard Zebra Danio's from the 12 gallon tank to the 35 gallon tank to break it in.

March 15, 2006 - The isolated Gold Pristella Tetra that was in quarantine died. Other fish in 12 gallon tank appear slow and less responsive than normal.

March 15, 2006 - Purchased thermometers and heaters for the tanks because it hit me that temperature may be the problem. After a few hours, the thermometers read 64 degrees (12g) and 62 degrees (35g). Also, the 12 gallon tank is 4.5 weeks old, which is roughly the cycle time for the tank to hit its high toxin levels prior reaching a balance.

March 16, 2006 - Temperatures on the tanks are 76 degrees (12g) and 77 degrees (35g).

March 18, 2006 - Added 7 fish to the 35g tank: 3 - Flame Dwarf Gourami, 3 - Gold Dwarf Gourami & 1 - Yo Yo Loach.

March 19, 2005 - Lost another Gold Pristella Tetra in the 12g tank.

March 22, 2006 - The last Gold Pristella Tetra died (12g). The Red Eye Tetra's have not (visibly) eaten in 3 days. I wonder if they are next.

March 24, 2006 - Removed a sickly Red Eye Tetra (12g). It appears this tank has been victimized by the dreaded Neon Tetra Disease.

March 25, 2006 - Lost 1 Corydoras Catfish so I removed the last 3 Red Eye Tetra (12g).

March 25, 2006 - Performed third water change, 2.5 gallons (21%), on the 12g tank.

March 29, 2006 - Lost the last Corydoras Catfish.

March 30, 2006 - Took water sample (12g) to the pet store for testing. Turns out the Ammonia level is off the chart. Aquaticman suggested water changes every other day until the Ammonia level drops to normal. Also, he suggested reduce feeding to once a day and skip weekends - apparently I fell victim to the all-too-common practice of feeding too much.

March 30, 2006 - Performed a water change, 3 gallons (25%), on the 12g tank.

March 30, 2006 - Bought Ammonia test kit and detected a noticeable amount in the 35g tank.

April 1, 2006 - Tested Ammonia level in 12g tank, still at 8.0+ on the chart. Changed water, 3 gallons (25%), on the 12g tank.

April 1, 2006 - Performaned first water change, 7 gallons (20%), on the 35g tank.

April 1, 2006 - Adjusted heaters (down) a little due to 82 degree temperatures in tanks.

April 2, 2006 - Tested 12g tank for Ammonia and it is still very high.

April 2, 2006 - Tested 35g tank for Ammonia and there was a slight trace.

April 3, 2006 - Performed water change, 3 gallons (25%0, on the 12g tank.

April 4, 2006 - Tested 12g tank for Ammonia and it is still very high.

April 5, 2006 - Performed water change, 3 gallons (25%), on the 12g tank.

April 5, 2006 - Performed water change, 6 gallons (17%), on the 35g tank.

April 6, 2006 - Tested 12g tank for Ammonia and it is still very high.

April 6, 2006 - Tested 35g tank for Ammonia and it is okay - no trace.

April 8, 2006 - Changed filter on 12g tank thinking food particles may be stuck in old filter increasing the Ammonia level.

April 8, 2006 - Performed eater change, 3 gallons (25%), on the 12g tank.
